Host City

Kinshasa is the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and also the largest city in the country. It is situated on the River Congo.  Kinshasa is also the second largest French-speaking urban area, after Paris.

Kinshasa is a huge sprawling city, it is confusing and colourful, like the New York of central Africa.

Places to visit in Kinshasa include the Grand Marche (market place), the tomb of the former president Laurent Kaila, the zoo, the art symphony and the academie des Beaux Arts.

Visa requirements

All foreigners entering the DRC require a visa obtained in advance, as well as a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Passports must be valid for at least six months and proof of sufficient funds and documents or tickets for return or onward travel are also required. Note: Passport and visa requirements are liable to change at short notice. Travelers are advised to check their entry requirements with their embassy or consulate.

Transfer service: $40 per person ONE WAY payable at Airport lounge against a receipt.
In Kinshasa, this will include the following services for the passengers:

On arrival (inbound):

  • Meet & greet after immigration/health counter clearance
  • Luggage handling/customs clearance (assistance et protocol)
  • Wait in Jeffery lounge or GHK lounge
  • Free internet
  • Complimentary drink if in Jeffery lounge (payable by passenger if in GHK lounge).
  • Transfer one way to GHK/Hotel du Fleuve (Kempinski)

On departure (outbound):

  • Transfer one way from GHK/Hotel du Fleuve to airport
  • Meet & greet on arrival at airport.
  • Luggage handling/customs clearance/procurement go pass (payable by passenger valued at $55)/Check in
  • Passenger waits in GHK lounge (refreshments payable by passenger).  Drink complimentary if passenger chooses to wait in Jeffery lounge.
  • Free internet
  • Upon formalities completed, either passenger continues waiting at GHK lounge, or can be taken to the Commercial VIP lounge (payable by passenger valued at $35 per person)
